FAQ DOES IT HURT?
We at Metallrockshop.se cannot guarantee that it won’t hurt because this is very individual! Some people feel next to nothing and others feel a lot. However, we always try our best to minimize pain by working professionally and as efficiently as we possibly can! It also helps you as a customer to take a deep breath and not worry too much during procedure
WILL IT BLEED?
This, again, is strictly individual. Some people bleed a little bit, some more, and others don’t bleed a lot. We recommend that you stop any blood thinning medications (unless prescribed by a doctor-if this is the case, please consult with your doctor prior to getting a piercing done) such as aspirin 1 week before coming in. Smoking cigarettes will also cause more bleeding as nicotine in general, causes inflammation.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
Individual, again. Any cartilage piercing WILL take longer to heal than let’s say a dermal or surface piercing. Nipple piercings can discharge for up to 2 years, on and off, and this is perfectly normal as long as you keep good hygiene!
WHEN CAN I CHANGE MY JEWELLERY?
This depends entirely upon the healing process! We can recommend anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. The longer you wait, the better it is! We also recommend to choose a Titanium jewellery to be pierced with that you actually like. This will minimize your desire to change it too quickly.
WHAT TYPE OF JEWELLERY WILL YOU USE ON ME?
We always (!) use Titanium when we pierce as this is 100% nickel-free! When healing is done, it’s up to you what you want to use after that but we still recommend Titanium and after that 316L Stainless steel and possibly gold. Bioflex and certain woods work fine as well. For those of you that are truly allergic, use Titanium, Bioflex and wood.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET AN INFECTION?
Well, our first thought would be that you didn’t read and/or understand your aftercare directions 100% because we would have gone through this with your before piercing you; both verbally and with you signing a consent release form. However, if you DO get an infection it could be something simple as hairspray, dust from the outside, skin care cream etc etc. If you got your piercing done at Hell’s Piercing, you are more than welcome to contact us and we will try our best to resolve the issue! Best case scenario: we change the jewellery for something a little bigger to make room for the healing process OR 2: we remove the jewellery and then we will have you come back in a few weeks to make a re-assessment and possibly redo the piercing.
